Code Signing .dll

Question

Hello,

I am in need of Signing a ".dll", with a Code Signing Certificate, I was told it is no longer supported and that I will need an EV Code Signing Certificate to do so, is that true?

I read on a few websites that date back a few months ago stating that code signing a ".dll" is possible, but I am just curious, I don't want to waste my time trying if it isn't supported anymore.

Also, what else is supported with basic code signing certificate?

TLDR, I need to code sign a ".dll" but don't know if it is supported.
