Hello,

Symantec just detected Heur.AdvML.C in the debug folder for a VS 2019 project on a workstation that I haven't worked on for many months. How can I tell if it's a false positive or not?

Thanks!

    Hi @Sara Lane ,

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A!

So far, we have not received feedback from other community members on similar issue.

Do you have other anti-virus software? You can temporarily disable the Symantec and use another AV to check again.
If it can’t be scanned by other antivirus software, I suspect it is a false positive. You can send feedback in dedicated Norton forum.

    Sincerely,
    Anna
