Export updates from newer WSUS to older WSUS version

Question

Dear Gents,
i am downloading updates for remote site which utilize old WSUS installed on Windows server 2008 R2 / Windows server 2012 R2. No internet connection there so i am downloading updates from virtual machine with windows server 2016 with WSUS role installed on it and plan to export and import updates using powershell command using wsusutil.exe

so the question here : is it ok to export updates and their metadata configuration from newer WSUS version and import them to older one or it must be the same version ??.i didnot find windows 2008R2 iso file on Windows Evaluation Center so i proceeded with windows server 2016. is there any problem in this when importing to older WSUS. thanks in advance

Yes. Please read this article in detail and follow this link to export and import the updates into the Offline WSUS server.
