Upgrade SharePoint 2013 foundation virtual machine to SharePoint 2019 questions

Single server SP 2013 foundation farm with a low amount of users.

SP 2013 foundation is running on a Hyper-V virtual machine with a server 2016 host.

SP 2019 might run on a virtual machine on a server 2016 or 2019 Hyper-V host.

Do I need to upgrade to 2016 and then 2019 or can I go straight from 2013 to 2019?

Any complications running SP on a virtual machine?

Would 16 GB RAM, 4 virtual cores be sufficient for SP 2019?

Any known major setup difference/requirements between SP 2013 foundation and SP 2019?

Thanks

    Hi @Susan Dodds ,

There is no direct upgrade path from SharePoint 2013 to SharePoint 2019 if you don’t plan to use third-party tools. To upgrade from SharePoint 2013 to SharePoint 2019 we must first upgrade to a temporary SharePoint 2016 farm and then migrate to SharePoint 2019. Per my knowledge, there is no major setup difference between SharePoint 2013 and SharePoint 2019. As requirements for SharePoint 2019 you could refer to the article above.
