.laccdb file not closing

My Access 2013 database is a split database. The fe is on a shared drive for multiple users. All of a sudden, the .laccdb file will not close when the database is closed. I have checked, there are not other users in the database. I can manually delete the lock file, but it stays open every time I open/close the database (not going to work with multiple users). I am not opening it exclusively. I have made sure that all my DAO objects are closed after use. I have double checked the references (they were all there) and re-compiled the code. I have also done the compact and repair. I have also created a new database and imported all the objects - still does it. I have also saved it to my hard drive, compact and repair then copied it back to the shared drive....still does it. (however, it did not do it on the hard drive???) I have also checked that my permissions have not changed, can still read/write/delete. Please help! My team is unable to enter time critical information and our dashboards are not able to be updated. Thank you in advance!

    Hi,

The Access forums all over the world (also this) are full of these reports as it is a worldwide update bug. Read the details in this support article. If the updates don't help then you can try to revert to an older build without the problem causing security updates. Daniel has details and links.
