I have a VM on hyper-v that keeps disconnecting from the VM every day. it returns back automatically when I restart the VM. it is a secondary disk, not a system disk. its size is more than 2 TB.
Did anyone run into the same issue? please help

    Hello ArafatSaleh,

Thank you for your question and reaching out.

    1. If you have attached USB External secondary disk as a passthrough disk :

It is possible that the USB disk has a power saving mode that spins it down after a period of inactivity or "Could be the physical drive if self is failing due to bad sectors .

    1. If you have attached iSCSI secondary disk :

Please check if the iSCSI storage unit or iSCSI storage provider is good in state and there is no error or warning on the storage unit.

    1. Also Please try to scan disk using chkdsk /f /r command to repair any NTFS file system related issues.
    2. Please check if there is any backup application running for this secondary drive which slows down the I/O of secondary disk.

Hope this answers your query and able to resolve towards the issue :)
