processor meets specs but still isn't compatible with Windows 11?

My processor is an Intel Core i7-6500U CPU @ 2.5 GHz, has 2 cores.

Windows 11 "requirements" say that it requires >1 core and 1 GHz or faster (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/windows-11-system-requirements-86c11283-ea52-4782-9efd-7674389a7ba3).

So why does the Health Check say mine is incompatible? (My computer passed the rest of the specs.)

I can't believe I reviewed so many posts from so many other people having the same concerns as I had. And they were also obsessing about how they failed Microsoft's Health Check. I thought the Health Check "fail" would prevent me from upgrading.

My simple "fix:" Manually check your # of cores and GHz meets minimum requirements, that you have "TPM 2.0" or whatever, then manually install Windows 11. (Quick Google search will tell you how to check your cores.)

I'm downloading now and will comment after the install if it does/n't work.

Tried ISO option. Still says I failed. Back to browsing 1000 "me-too" comments for a particle of helpful hints.

    Hello,

Unfortunately, i7-6500U processor is not compatible for Windows 11, according to Microsoft.

Please check with official Windows 11 list of supported processors:

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/design/minimum/supported/windows-11-supported-intel-processors

You can drop a feedback to Microsoft about this, using Feedback hub app.

    Regards.
