Why is Windows update to May 2020 version 2004 is taking too long to install?

My windows is currently running on 1903 version and I have been trying to update my windows to 2004 version but it is taking forever. I have tried many times but the speed is very slow especially after 70% installation is done.

Is there a way to do it more efficiently? Microsoft should look into the installation time for its updates, this causes a lot harrassment for the customers.

    You can download the ISO file from here, Home or Pro (not Enterprise)

    There is also a link pointing to the media creation tool (which I can't access from my Mac).

    Hello,

    I recommend you to upgrade to V2004 via ISO file. It is more efficient method of upgrade.

    Hi,

    To eliminate third party software affection, please boot into Clean Boot environment, then disable antivirus software temporarily and perform installation with Windows 10 2004 ISO image.

    Also we could go to computer device manufacturer website to download and install the latest hardware driver before upgrade, to get a better computer compatibility and cutdown searching and adding driver time cost during upgrade.
