I want to understand what will happen, if I press "Configure initial domain" under newly added tenant name. Couldn't find anything in Microsoft documents.

    Hi @Arthur Avanesyan ,

    maybe this helps:

Every new Azure AD tenant comes with an initial domain name, <domainname>.onmicrosoft.com. You can't change or delete the initial domain name, but you can add your organization's names. Adding custom domain names helps you to create user names that are familiar to your users, such as alain@Company portal .com.

    Thank you for your post!

Based off your screenshot, it looks like Configuring Initial Domain is referring to setting your newcompany.onmicrosoft.com domain as the initial default domain for your tenant, (making it the default domain over company.onmicrosoft.com). Configuring this will rename your tenant.

I wasn't able to see this within any of my tenants, but I believe you're seeing this in yours because your initial tenant is company.onmicrosoft.com, which is an Unverified domain. And since subdomains are automatically verified by Azure AD, you're seeing the option to make your newcompany.onmicrosoft.com (Verified) subdomain, the primary domain of your tenant, because your primary domain (company.onmicrosoft.com) isn't a verified domain.

    I hope this helps!

Thank you for your time and patience throughout this issue.

Hi all, I spoke to Microsoft Support and they mentioned that it is impossible to rename your domain. They recommended to start from scratch.
