Why isn't windows 11 more universally compatible?

I have an i7 3770 3.4 GHz 4 core. I've only have this computer for a short while, it's pretty new... Why is there no compatibility for windows 11 for my computer? Is this something that can be fixed? Will this be available sometime in the future this hardware? I'm going to to be using this computer for a long time. What happens when they stop supporting windows 10?

Please try FreeBSD or Devuan Linux. It is very easy, free and almost same as Windows.
We are boxed in corporate games.

Discontinuing an older piece of hardware's abilty to function for being older is VERY WRONG!!! It is a money grab.
If it works....IT WORKS! Needlessly spending money is a waste and not possible for many people including myself.
Having been on disability for 15 years does not allow much extra cash.

Please provide another reason besides its getting old.

Please try FreeBSD or Devuan Linux. It is very easy, free and almost same as Windows.

Yes it is blasphemy! I'm proud to still be using an i7 3770 in my old pc, which is way more than what's needed for Windows 11, by a longshot. I guess they are not concerned whatsoever about the chip shortage, which begs the question why on earth are they in the industry???

An OS has tons of things happening behind the scenes. U seiing the desktop home interface loaded on your screen Do NOT Means that everything is working. Processors are not like car engines, they are more like a million of specialista workers doing their specific workloads. Every new processor has new jobs added from some time of word and remove obsolete jobs. So, windows 11 need a lot of new technologies to run all OS services. And a lot of services won't work on a 11 years old processor. Simple technologies like h265 que are responsible to decode YouTube videos do NOT existing in a processor like i7-3xxx line. So windows has to software decode this to generic functions at processor using almost all CPU to simple watch a video on YouTube. Imagine it doing it for all security features and more.. and there are things that is impossible to simulate. The users interface may like running ok. But behind the scenes, really is happening a lot of errors and more errors that windows is not showing to you. If u use your PC for work the chance of constantly going to a "blue screen" is really really higher. Study a little more about how processors work that u will see how is easy to understand their decision.

Hello,

Unfortunately, i7-3770 processor is not compatible for Windows 11, according to Microsoft.

As this processor is very old (Q2'12), and is also discontinued by Intel, so not even an upgrade is possible:

I recommend you to upgrade to a newer processor that supports Windows 11. You can refer this list:

This includes desktops, laptops, and tablets.

Agreed. However, it is utterly insane! Is Microsoft not aware there is a chip shortage??? Windows 11 only requires 1 GHz CPU. I also just installed an i7 3770 in my old sff Dell Optiplex. Old machines should be kept running as long as the owner knows how to keep them up to date (i7 3770 is the highest CPU my mother board can handle). It's amazing that I was able to turn an outdated office machine into a pretty decent gaming PC. What's not amazing is that Microsoft would rather have me spend loads of money on a new PC when I don't need one just to use their latest product, continuing to add to the chip shortage problem.
