Can no longer approve sign-in from lockscreen/notification using Microsoft Authenticator on Android
Since making changes to the security settings of my Microsoft account (changing email, password, re-enabling 2FA), I have no longer been able to approve 2FA requests from the notifications pull-down menu or the lockscreen of my Android phone on which I have Microsoft Authenticator installed.
Prior to making these changes, when signing in or unlocking my vault on OneDrive, I would receive a notification on my phone with two buttons, "Approve" or "Refuse" (see image below - I am translating from French, the language on my phone). I would then be able to approve the 2FA request from the lockscreen or the notifications pull-down menu by simply pressing this button.
Since making some change to the security settings of my Microsoft account, the procedure has changed. Rather than the 2FA request being sent automatically, I am prompted to press a button to send a notification:
Then I receive a notification on my phone that does not have any buttons:
That then opens a pop-up window with the buttons to approve or refuse:
After pressing approve, I am sometimes prompted to give my fingerprint.
Basically, I would like to restore the old procedure by which I could approve the 2FA request from the notifications pull-down menu or lockscreen as this was more convenient for me. I have done some research and I believe that the new procedure is the intended functionality of the "App Lock" setting, but I do not have this setting enabled in Microsoft Authenticator. The old procedure whereby requests can be approved from a button in the notification still works using Microsoft Authenticator on the same phone for my work account. I have tried to enable and re-enable 2FA for my personal account but this did not work. Furthermore, the solution in this thread does not work: https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/2b51bb4c-6152-40a8-982c-3f7be2ef58cd/approve-sign-in-from-a-locked-android-screen
Could somebody help me in this regard?
