Exhange365 Contact/User Question

I have a person with a contact created in Exchange365 who has now become employed by us. In attempting to setup her email account for the company, her contact account, which already has her name associated using gmail, is getting in the way. Ideally, I'd like to retain both email addresses.

Must I delete the contact to create the exchange365 email account or is there a provision or workaround to accomplish this?

    I ended up adding the user with a very different, but still recognizable, account name that doesn't comply with the standard we use. I'm not sure why its behaving as it is but I couldn't dedicate days to troubleshoot this when the end-user was starting her job.

    This will be a nagging curiosity for a while, but its something I can live with.

    Hi @ITDept

    There is no need to delete the contact to create an Exchange 365 account, as they can have the same display name.

    Please see the screenshots below:

    I have a contact whose display name is Jack Brown, email address is Jack@Stuff .com.

    I can also create an Exchange 365 account with the same display name, but with a different email address Jack@365domain.com.
