Hello,

We have an Exchange Server 2016 CU20 dag of two nodes, that had the Y2K22 bug that interrupts normal mail flow, on January 1st, 2022.
At first, we applied a workarround by running the following commands to get back mail flow operational:

Disable-TransportAgent -Identity "Malware Agent"
Restart-Service msexchangetransport

But when Microsoft published this document:

https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/exchange-team-blog/email-stuck-in-exchange-on-premises-transport-queues/ba-p/3049447?fbclid=IwAR1HdSfhcXkgohMLZGyZrR8BJl5AhWGRIacU6DmXPnH0pP7W_5i4-6e_zvM

I tried to follow it but, i fail to stop the process UPDATESERVICE.EXE

I would like to know, if anyone had this problem? and if there's a solution for this? especially that even the manual procedure to resolve the Y2K22 requires stopping FMS, MSExchangeTransport services, and the updateservice.exe process..

Thank you in advance,

    @Lotfi BOUCHERIT

    I notice that you installed McAfee on your Exchange server, I would suggest you uninstall it first. Because McAfee may affect the change you make to your Exchange server. You could reinstall it after repairing this issue.

    I would suggest you run PowerShell with administrator permission, then run the .\Reset-ScanEngineVersion.ps1 script from the elevated PowerShell.
