Hi,
I am having trouble getting the Teams Media Optimization running in a Personal Desktop for Azure Virtual Desktop. I've tried Windows 10 and Windows 11. Both are the same.
I followed the following guide https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/virtual-desktop/teams-on-avd

Regkey is set, the Teams WebSocket Service has been installed and is up and running. The Teams Client has been installed as per-machine-installation as well.

But the Remote Hardware is still not available in the Teams Client Settings and under Settings - About I can see the following message:

You have Microsoft Teams Version 1.4.00.32771 AVD Media Optimized.

Has anyone experienced the same or has an idea how to fix this?

Are you connecting in from a Windows 10/11 device with the latest version of the AVD desktop client installed? You also need to have MsTeams installed on the local Windows device for redirection.

You may also need to redirect your local hardware devices (camera/audio etc).

    Hi @Pascal Peters

Could you check if you have installed the latest version of the Remote Desktop WebRTC Redirector Service on your VM image.

If you have installed it, you could open services.msc to check whether the Remote Desktop WebRTC redirector service is running or not.

For more details about steps about this problem, you could refer to this blog.

    Hi,

I have to apologise for my question. I think I found the problem of the issue.
I was trying to connect from an macOS client. The Remote Desktop Client for macOS just got a preview feature for enabling the media optimization.

After enabling it the media optimization was working fine.

After that I also verified the connection from a windows notebook. Which honestly, I have never tried before and I realised that this is working fine as well.

kind regards to all of you
