Since some month, one of my 2019 server fails to install cumulative updates

• windows update troubleshooter
• sfc scanning
• dism scan and restorehealth
• manual download and installation

What can I try, now?

You can also try a repair install by running setup.exe from the root of the install media, but I wouldn't hold much hope for this. Time may be better spent standing up a new one, patch fully, migrate roles over and move on.

One can recover her/his machine by running manual corruption repair (MCR).

then trying to update the windows form Windows Update Settings UI page.
