Hello everybody.

We have been working with a sharepoint list for over a year now.

One list currently has 28,010 items. We have taken all necessary steps to ensure problems not arise, by indexing columns, creating views etc.

The list has been functioning normally until Friday 7/1/22 and we had no problems with any of the views. Nothing to our knowledge regarding the size of the list changed over the weekend.

Since today 10/1/22, we have been getting this message: 'The specified list might have been deleted or you might not have permission to view it. Contact the site owner for more information.'.

The list is not deleted and all the PowerAutomate flows associated with this list continue to function and retrieve data normally. Permissions have not changed for registered users that have access.

We have tried logging in from different browsers and changing the default view or the filters within it, but still getting the same message.

I am having the same problem this morning. The 2 libraries having the issue are well over the 5000 list view threshold. This was fine until this morning so I don't know what has changed. Even the views that are highly filtered to just a couple items aren't working.

@JulieWang-MSFT thank you for your update. The problem seems to have resolved for internal users of our company, but remains for external users trying to access our Public view. Seems that the issue only occurs when Grouping or Sorting is applied.

[Edit]: View seems to work correct for external users as well, when groups/sort is applied. Only issue is that when filtering, the page force-refreshes several times before showing results,

    Still the problem occurs.
Strangely happens only using Microsoft Edge.
The same users affected are able to access the document library with Google Chrome.

    • No, nothing has been fixed at all. It's Saturday November 12 2022 and still occurring on my library.
    • I have no where near 5000 items AND I'm using Chrome not Edge.
    • When I attempt to filter a column in the library to show items where a column is Empty.

So? What's the fix or one of these things where, it's the user's fault and it'll be swept under the rug?
