[Exchange] Linked mailbox password update

Hi,

We have a shared Exchange for multiple domains and create linked mailbox with this one.

By testing password changing, i noticed that the webmail doesn't update the password. it took the last one but i'm still able to connect with olders. I changed 4, 5 times and i can login with every password except the first one (initial).
On a test workstation, the problem doesn't appear, i only can logon with the latest password.

I was wandering if it is a gpo's behavior but it don't seems.

Does anyone have an idea or an explanation please ?

Thanks,

François

    Hi @François Ruault

The supported way to change the linked mailbox password is using ADUC in the account forest rather than using OWA, I saw some related threads discusses the issue using OWA to change the linked mailbox password, you could take a reference:

Linked mailbox with password change in OWA
you would need to set that in the user's domain using ADU&C since that's the domain the user is actually logging into.

Unable to change password in OWA for linked mailbox in Exchange 2007
you'll need to disable the change password feature in OWA and have the users change their passwords in their native forest.
