Teams focus mode error

When someone is presenting the screen on team as a viewer I used to turn on Full screen as well as focus mode which used to show the screen or the presenter ONLY. Since last week even after turning on focus and full screen mode the gallery still remains on the scree. Any suggestions for the same?

What's the build number of your Teams client? To view the detailed version information, you can click the "···" at the upper right conner and choose About > Version:

If possible, could you share a screenshot after obfuscating all sensitive informatioon so that we can understand better about the issue described?

I tried checking in my Microsoft Teams Version 1.4.00.32771 (64-bit) and got the results below, is it the same as what you are experiencing?

Both the Focus on content and Full Screen options have been enabled, but only the other attendees are hidden:

By the way, if you want to enter an entirely full screen mode, based on my test you can join the meeting from Teams on the web and then choose "Enter full screen" there.

The last image (After image) posted by you show the exact problem, earlier not only the participants but also the galley used to get hidden from local client as well. Will join and check with web now.

It is a small thing but gets annoying on longer calls.

Same Issue Here Version 1.4.00.32771 (64-bit) before i used to be able to completely hide the participants on the right and the content then USED all that FREE SPACE, now the empty space remains there, even after I press focus on content.

Please fix, thank you!

I have the same issue. Focus mode should be on by default, now no longer works at all. Please fix!

@Yuki Sun-MSFT The Web thing worked, Thank you :)

@Mikhail Konovalov @Sergio Herrera Mercado @Scott Ramsey I joined the meeting via browser and not local client it solved the problem. I could go into focus mode properly.

However the client issue remains as it is. Many convenient features don't work on browser e.g. We use Jabra conference speaker, which has a mute button on speaker, when we join using local client I can mute using the button on speaker, however the feature doesn't work when I join from Browser.

Hi @Nikhil Deshmukh and all the others who are experiencing the same issue,

I tried searching around and did noticed some more reports about this issue on the forums. But so far, per my research I haven't seen any official document explictly stating if this is a known issue under investigation or a feature change in recent update.

Given this situation, aside from using Teams web version as a temporary workaround, I'd also suggest keeping the Teams client up-to-date and trying to contact your organization's M365 Administrator, they would be able open a support tickect via the Microsoft 365 Admin portal:

Meanwhile, I'll also try my best to keep tracking this and posted back once I see any publicly available information about the issue.
