Reporting Problem with Visual Studio

I'm trying to report a problem with VS 2022, but when I attempt to sign in I get an error, Error signing in: 'ERR_SIGN_IN: ERR_UNKNOWN_VSO_ACCOUNT'. Why is it saying this? I have no issues signing into the VS IDO with same the credentials.

Thanks

Hi @Amber Cairns , where did you sign in? From Visual Studio > Help > Send Feedback > Report a Problem? If yes, please try to sign in by using VS Installer, on the top right corner, click Provide feedback icon(button) > Report a problem > sign in.

I'm having the same problem and reporting an error via the installer makes no difference. Last week I eventually managed to get a log on after multiple attempts but it's an unacceptable impediment to bug reporting. Right now I have a bug to report but apparently it's impossible. I can sign in on the community forum from the web but then I'm 'disconnected from VS' so can't report anything. Any attempt to report a problem results in ERR_SIGN_IN: ERR_UNKNOWN_VSO_ACCOUNT.

And lo! suddenly after posting this I've been allowed through. Looks to me like some kind of capacity issue with multiple attempts eventually succeeding. This is no way to encourage feedback.

Oh come on! So it turns out my bug is a duplicate. I decide to view the details and vote on it. Now bear in mind at this point I'm actually logged in and my VS instance is attached. So I click on the up vote arrow and get told I have to sign in. So I click on the sign in button. At which point I'm told that I'm going to be signed out and I get signed out. Then I get asked to pick an account so I pick the same one I always use (company account) and have to sign in again.

Is really the best Microsoft can do?

The problem is still ongoing from VS (I've added a comment to a ticket about this) but this time around using the Installer to report the problem worked.
