I am trying to edit a newsletter that I created last school year in Word. I am using the same version of Word. I have used the newsletter all school year, but now it won't let me resize or move text boxes. What am I missing? I have no idea why this has happened and I don't know how to figure out what is locking them in place.

This is a recent bug in Word. MS knows about it and is working on it.

You can modify text boxes and other shapes using the controls under the contextual format tab.
If the document is in compatibility mode, save a copy and try updating it to the latest format File > Info > Convert.

More recent reports indicate that the bug has now been fixed.

    Hi @Kara Buttolph

Sorry for the inconvenience, can you please go to Word, click File > Account to check the version name and version number of Office?
I would do some tests on this version of Office.

Besides, as CharlesKenyon-8472 and StefanBlom-6438's suggestions, please check whether you could select the text boxes.
If yes, you could go to Shape Format tab > Size group, modify the size.
Besides, you could click the expand arrow in the lower right corner (Advanced Layout: Size) > Position tab, then adjust the position of the text boxed on the current page.

Any updates, you could post back.
