changing color of category in own mailbox is visible in other mailbox

situation:
Exchange 2016, Outlook 2016.

User A has his own mailbox in Outlook.
He also has another mailbox X (full access + sendas permisions). So configured as a shared mailbox setup.

User B has configured Outlook with mailbox X as his primary mailbox.

When user A changes the color of a category in his outlook, user B sees that color change in his Outlook.

How is that possible?

Any explanation that can clarify this behaviour?

Thanks
Kurt

    Hi @Kurt Stichelmans ,

    Welcome to our forum!

According your description, I noticed that User A has changed the color of a category in shared mailbox, right?

If so, based on my test and considering the nature of the shared mailbox, it is expected that the same change will occur in the shared mailbox of User B. It's by design.

If you don't want the contents of the shared mailbox to be changed, you can remove the Send As permission for User A. For more information about shared mailbox, please refer to: Shared mailboxes in Exchange Server.
