Epics are missing from Work Item list

My organisation have been using Azure DevOps Service for about a year now. We use the Agile process for boards. Recently Epics are not showing on the Work Items list. They always used to show and they are still showing for other team members with less access than me.

I setup and manage the service. We don't have 10,000 work items yet and it is only me they are missing for. I want to be able to filter the list to show only Epic types (during sprint planning) but when I do, I get 'No work items match your filter'. I have no idea why this has just started happening. I can go into a related Feature and select the Epic from there to view it and see all related Features linked to that Epic but this is a long winded approach. It isn't as nice as having them listed and being able to use a dropdown to see child features and user stories. It's especially frustrating when sharing my screen to all the team - it can get confusing when trying to get across what we are trying to achieve in the sprint.

Has anyone else came across this issue or a similar issue and figured out a way to solve it?
