Hi,

I have a on-premise SQL server which is having 10 databases and 5 applications and I need to migrate this server to Azure SQL MI using DMS online migration. For using DMS online migration I have to register the application in Azure AD and generate the App ID and Key. Please advise on the below questions.

Do I need to register all the 5 above on-premise applications in Azure portal to generate 5 application ID and key to use it in DMS?

Can I register one application and use that app ID for all 10 DBs164235-appidnkey.png migration?

This application registration will impact anything after the migration and the generated App ID and keys will be used only for migration?

Please refer the below link for DMS online migration and Application registration.

Hi, @Nilesh Patel Thanks for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.
Yes, you can use a single add managed identity since you will configure DMS at "instance" level then you will choose the dbs which you want and that's it.

No impact as this is just a user inside AAD
