Upgrade to Windows 11 blocks my PC from logging in

My PC doesn't work at all with Windows 11. After 1st upgrade to Win 11 I was able to run Repair process and returned to Win 10 - not trivial, took me a whole day to do. Since that, I've just ignored Win 11 suggestion. However, yesterday Windows forced me to perform restart and over 4 hours of waiting (good job, friends) I found myself in the same situation: not able to log in, no response from system, black screen. Nice. I was able to repair it again (previous attempt saved recovery point, this one didn't but by uninstalling all updates I returned to Win 10). It is awful, aggressive, not friendly workflow. Do you think this is normal behavior?

All my drivers are updated to the last versions, PC is not so old (2 years).

I found workaround (change Target Release version in the registry to 21H2) but this is not obvious and I think you should give more user friendly way to prevent installing Win 11 without user agreement.

    Hi there,

I would suggest you manually download the Windows 11 ISO and try running an In-place update. It seems that you have updated all your drivers but make sure the BIOS is updated too as this might be the most important reason for this issue.

When stuck on the login screen, press Ctrl + Alt + Del to reload the interface and access the sign-in windows. You can now select the user profile, enter the password for it, and log in to your system.

However, do remember that this is not a permanent fix but merely a workaround.

Steps for in place upgrade can be obtained from the below thread
