Windows Server Reset HELP!?

Hi,

Just joined the forum. Hoping someone can help me because I am kind of at a loss right now. The servers at work have completely gone down after the recent update on Tuesday. I see we are not the only ones and this update has caused many issues for people. Yesterday some of us were still able to remote in, it kept kicking us off from time to time and had some issues, but with some persistence, we could still establish some remote connections. Today, however, nobody can access anything and the servers are not responding. I know we have to uninstall the recent windows update in order to revert things back to normal but what is the best way to go about this now that I can't get any remote access? I have tried rebooting one of the hosts physically by the mains as we have 2, 1 is a backup. But still nothing... after boot reverts to the status it was before. We can ping some of the addresses but not get responses from others. Unsure what to do now, I'm kind of running out of ideas... any help would be appreciated.

Thank you :) Hope someone can help....

a bit more digging on restoring Failed Domain Controllers.

You can do that but do not restore more than one. The better solution here is to restore the PDCe from a known good backup. Then do cleanup of remnants of others from active directory. Then rebuild the others from scratch. Some general info below.

I'd use dcdiag / repadmin tools to verify health correcting all errors found before starting any operations. Then stand up the new 2019 or 2022, patch it fully, license it, join existing domain, add active directory domain services, promote it also making it a GC (recommended), transfer FSMO roles over (optional), transfer pdc emulator role (optional), use dcdiag / repadmin tools to again verify health, when all is good you can move on to next one.

Anyone can call Microsoft support… whether they have a pre-paid support contract or not. And all cases closed as bugs are refunded.

Since the machines are not responding remotely, you'll likely need to logon to the console in order to uninstall the updates.
