Hi,
Win 2016 server is not fine to have the proper Win update inside. Where are the proper downloads to apply the latest Windows security update on it?

What is the update failed to download on the Windows Server 2016 clients? Have you saw the KB number of the updates? like KB5009546. Here is the Windows Server 2016 update history for your reference: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/january-11-2022-kb5009546-os-build-14393-4886-0c2cac57-13b6-42e6-b318-41ca32428f91

In addition, we could download the updates from Microsoft Update Catalog and install it in your computer manually.

Please try to share the error tips for us reference when you failed to download the updates on the servers. Thanks for your cooperation in advance.

Hi,
Please see error encountered below (with Edge browser). My current Edge browser is with the version "Version 97.0.1072.62 (Official build) (64-bit)".

I tried to download the update in my lab and it is normal to get the update. The update are downloaded into the following location:
C:\Temp\Patches

Please check one more time and confirm whether the update has been downloaded into the path.

Is there any updates of the case? Have you reviewed the C:\Temp\Patches folder and find the update on the location? I could download the update on my computer though there is deed the error tip as the same as your environment.

Hi,
I do not see "c:\temp" drive on my Win 2016 server.

I was also stuck to collect all the relevant Windows update for the current OS. How to resolve it?

Assuming v1607 you can download and install the latest SSU
https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=KB5005698

followed by the latest (stable) cumulative update.
https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=KB5008207

(I'd stay away from Jan 11 update for now because of current issues)

Yes, I tried also on other PC, and cannot download them using both Chrome and Edge.
