SharePoin on-prem - Classic & Modern site conflicts

Hi All,

I would like to seek your help over one of the problems that we are facing with Modern site( a subsite).

We have a highly customized Classic root site and a modern sub site under it. There is a problem with HERO WebPart in the Modern Sub site being the images are getting stretched in the WebPart.

Our UAT is working fine its just that PROD is having the problem. As per MS the problem is with the customization over ROOT Classic site that is affecting the Modern Sub Site.

May I request and check if anyone has ever faced such problem, and any solution to it?

We have done more testing and here is the outcome:

a. Created a new Modern Site Collection and a Modern Subsite under it: Same problem of image appearing bigger/blurred in HERO Webpart.

a. Created a New Classic Site Collection with ootb Master Page with no customization applied and a Modern Subsite under it: Same problem of image appearing bigger/blurred in HERO Webpart.

Anyone has any clue or resolution?

Per my test, I create a subsite in my modern root site, when it comes to HERO web part, it seems normally and I could not reproduce the error.

As this problem is really weird, we suggest you open a ticket from Microsoft for further help.

Hi Everyone,

We did further analysis. With used F12 over the HERO WebPary we could check & see that all the "Div" are loading fine including the "Div" in which image is rendered.

Just that image is getting extended, instead of fitting within the "Div" frame by auto adjusting the size.

Hero web part:

Tiles: the height of the web part is scaled to follow an aspect ratio of 8:3, and images inside the web part scale to an aspect ratio of 4:3.

Layers: An individual layer scales to an aspect ratio of 8:3, and images inside each layer scale to an aspect ratio near 16:9.

On mobile devices, a carousel layout is used at 16:9.
