Hi Folks:

TL;DR Paint 3D freezes immediately when I try to paste text into a new 3D text object.

Using regularly updated Windows 10 Pro.

This is my first use of Paint 3D and it's not going well.

I think it will be easier to demonstrate the problem than trying to describe it in text.

Here's a 1 minute Imgur video, please enable the sound and I'll explain the problem.

The volume is a little low. If you slide Imgur's volume control to the right I believe it will be loud enough.

I'd like to know if anybody else can duplicate this problem, or is something wrong with my system?

Any work around to paste text into Paint 3D 3D text?

This is my second attempt to get some help on Microsoft Answers, the first post had a bad tag and a video with even worse diction than this one.

Thanks
Larry

    Hello Auniquename

Initially I would recommend a standard check up and troubleshooting as suggested in the next thread: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/paint-3d-crashing/d6d51700-0918-4767-bc42-545dddf0e36e

Additionally, some community users with similar issues have resolved the issue by updating firmware and drivers of their GPUs, even disabling temporary some 3D acceleration or control programs that normally are installed with the GPU Utilities. You can try disabling those services and Start apps from MSCONFIG, to test if there is any effect on the Paint3D behavior.

Basically, if you are brave enough to use Paint 3D for more than a few seconds, save multiple versions of the project so that if you're also brave enough to use 3D Text or any other feature that Classic MS Paint didn't (doesn't) have, you'll at least still have a previous version to pick up from when it inevitably crashes & kills the newest version. It would sure be nice to have a graphics editor that has a balance between having a professional feature set & not being a resource hog.
