Hi all ,
I have configured the SharePoint logs retention to 2 days, however it is not deleting .usage file and logs automatically and consuming the drive space. What could be possible reason, I gone though the logs but nothing special I found. Its only with web front with cache server, in application it looks fine.
Anyone has any idea or face same issue ?

Try to delete the file manually to see if some other process is holding on the file such as Splunk.
If file is not in use of any other process make sure patch is same as in central administration, enter the number of days again and hit save to refresh.
Try restarting the SPTraceV4 service from services console or command.

Tried to restart both SPTimerV4 and SPTraceV4 services but that doesn't change anything.

What is the version of SharePoint?
I suggest you install the latest Cumulative Update for SharePoint. Then run following PowerShell to restart timer service.
restart-service -Name SPTimerV4

Yes, I patched server to latest version. However its not resolving. I tried " restart-service -Name SPTimerV4" also but nothing is changing .
I suggest you open a ticket with Microsoft.
