Windows Licensing for Windows Server 2019

Question

Hi Gurus,

I need your guidance on a below setup.

I have 3 HP Gen 10 380 ESXi 6.7 host with Intel Pentium Gold Processors.

We need to run multiple windows 2019 VM's which will be running different applications.

Can anyone guide me which version of windows 2019 standard/ Datacenter is better for installation.

Also how the Windows licensing works. Pointing me to a easy and good to understand document will be very helpful as well.

Hi there,

The Windows Server 2019 editions are quite similar in features. The only difference lies in the limits and a few unique product features. While the Standard Edition is suitable for small virtualized environments, the Datacenter edition is perfect for highly virtualized and cloud-based environments.

You can compare the Pros and cons of both and make a decision which suits you the best.
