Windows Admin Center unable to view Event Log when authenticated via LAPS

Hello,

we are using Windows Admin Center Version 2110 installed on a Windows 10 Machine.

When connecting to a Client machine I can successfully authenticate via LAPS.

However, when clicking on "Events", Windows Admin Center displays the authentication dialog again and I'm unable to authenticate with LAPS.

When I enter LAPS credentials manually, the error "error while decoding oaep padding" is displayed in the authentication dialog.

According to internet sources this error means that "...you are using a public key to decrypt, while you should be using a private key for decryption".

This happens on any client I connect to...

Is there any information available if this is a know bug and when it is going to be fixed?

Thx

    Hello @Christian Schindler

This error is related to the encryption level of the authentication and RSA.

I would recommend to download and reinstall LAPS from: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=46899
Please ensure that you use the right version for your architecture, as well you have the requisites met: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/itops-talk-blog/step-by-step-guide-how-to-configure-microsoft-local/ba-p/2806185

Also I would focus into system update, as well anything related to Powershell version and .NET versions.

Hope this helps with your query,

Hello and thanks for your answer!

I know that this error is related to encryption, etc.

However, it only occurs when accessing event logs. All other areas are accessible without any error...
