How can you get Authenticator to scan a QR code from a third party site that uses 2FA?

I'm trying to add a few online accounts to Microsoft Authenticator, but they all want me to Scan their QR code with my app. I tried using the camera, which works and it opens the Authenticator app, but then nothing. There appears to be NO WAY in the Authenticator app itself to scan a QR code. This would seem to be pretty basic practice. Is there a way?
