There are online sites that show how, by altering the registry, the Windows 11 File Manager (Windows Explorer) may be replaced with the Windows 10 version. If I were to make this replacement, would there be an adverse affect the security of Windows 11?

    Hello PaddyPatterson

Yes, this is possible and mostly a cosmetic change, as far as the community is aware. However has been reported that the Share Command will be disabled if you perform this change.

All in all, it will not be recommended to tweak the File Explorer, as it is uncertain how this can affect the behavior of the system or 3rd Party applications, including compromising security.
