Hi,

When patching an Exchange 2019 server that is running as a management box, running in Hybrid mode with all mailboxes in ExOL ... do i need to do maintenance mode or similar??
Or, just install CU/patch on server, and work through wizard?

Thanks

Yea ok to just install the CU from an elevated prompt :)
No need to put into maintenance mode if its just a mgmt server in hybrid.

    Hi @OMG_98

Yes, agree with Andy, there is no need to put your server into Maintenance mode if it's just a management server in Exchange hybrid.

Generally, when you perform any type of software or hardware maintenance on a DAG member, you should first put the DAG member in maintenance mode.
What is maintenance mode? Essentially, it's a script that drains the node from the cluster and suspends the server's activities so the database availability group (DAG) does not fail over.
