If you use a workstation make sure you are connected via the onboard video connector if you have a onboard video card, the video connector from add-in video card are usually not working in recovery mode.

My monitors don't receive any display signal after I select ANY option in the windows recovery environment menu, and I am forced to hard reboot my computer. Everything else launches fine and I am able to use my computer as normal, however I am trying to diagnose and repair another issue through the chkdsk command, and that won't run after reboot either. I cannot enter safemode because I do not get any signal to enter safe mode after trying from WRE and pressing f8 on normal boot does not do anything either.
