Hello, we have a virtual server that holds a domain controller. Past several days the server randomly shows a message that it will restart. The following event log 98 is logged.

Volume E: (\Device\HarddiskVolume5) needs to be taken offline for a short time to perform a Spot Fix. Please run "CHKDSK /SPOTFIX" locally via the command line, or run "REPAIR-VOLUME <drive:>" locally or remotely via PowerShell.

Does anyone have any insight of this?

Thanks

You did not mention the operating system but this sounds likely to be caused by the Jan11th update bug to which the fix is to install the subsequent out of band update to fix it.
