I am at a complete loss with this error, I've never seen it before.
I am trying to open a project solution file and when it opens and I try to open any of the form design views I get the above error, can anyone shed any light on where to look and what the issue may be?

Go to you project folder and find the corresponding file that has the .designer.vb or .designer extension. (For example: "Form1.designer.vb"). Check if it is valid or show some details.
Also check if new Forms projects work.

I can got to the folder and the form1.designer.vb is present and I can open it and all looks good, all the controls are listed in there.
I also tried all the form design views and some worked but most didn't, I opened another existing project and that worked OK as well.
I have no clue as to what's going on.
What errors do you get if you build and start the program?

Here is a screen grab of the top of the error list when trying to build the app, there are more of the same below.
Probably the resources were accidentally deleted or excluded from project. The resource files are usually called “Resources.resx” and “Resources.Designer.vb”, are located in “My Project” subfolder, and can be edited in Resources tab of Project Properties.
I finally sorted it out, I found a missing resources error in the VB code but the resources.resx file was there so I added a new image to the resources and then it seemed to fix the broken link to the resources and all was well.
