RDP Session continually disconnects from Azure SQL VM

I connect to my SQL Azure VM with RDP. While I'm on there, every few minutes it does a disconnect and of the RDP and right away try's to reconnect. It will timeout for about 8 seconds then come back to the Server. This happens throughout the day. Any thoughts on how to fix this? This happens even when connected to other computers and different user accounts.

Thanks for your help!

    Hi @Kevin Klockner ,

Thanks for reaching out to Microsoft QnA Platform.
RDP session can frequently get disconnected from an Azure SQL VM due to some common reasons.

    1. First would be, if the processes running on the VM consume high resources, then the VM might face a resource crunch and the RDP session might get disconnected frequently. Resource crunch would be when there is a very high consumption of memory or CPU. You might also want to check if the IOPS and throughput consumption of the OS disk are within the disk limits. You can try to monitor them via Azure Portal. Go to the VM, then under Overview section, you will see Monitoring tab where you can find the charts as shown at the end.
    2. Another reason why you might see frequent RDP disconnects is if the RDP listener is misconfigured. You can follow this document to check the steps : Troubleshoot-rdp-intermittent-connectivity.
