Moving SUP-WSUS to New Server

Hi,

I was trying to move SUP and WSUS off the site server but I am getting an error in WCM.log "Publishing operation failed because the console and remote server versions~~do not match". I believe this is because the SUP/WSUS server is Windows 2019 and the site server is still on 2012R2. Is it possible to get these working together or do I need to upgrade my site server now? Was hoping to do get this part done first before I upgraded the site server but maybe not?!? Thank you.

Regards,

Gregg

    Hi @Sterling, G ,

Publishing operation failed because the console and remote server versions~~do not match

Yes , you are right. This is a fairly straight forward issue that will occur whenever the WSUS console version does not match the version installed on the WSUS server.

We could move SUP/WSUS first and then upgrade the site server to Windows 2019 to match the version.
