    Hello ferdy,

yes it will work, just take care that the latest version of RDC for Mac installed. Also make sure if you haven not already, to create a network share. You need a network share to store user’s home folders. Microsoft provides detailed instructions on their website. This guide only requires you to create a network share for the redirected files. You need not configure any Group Policies.

Deploy Folder Redirection with Offline Files
    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/storage/folder-redirection/deploy-folder-redirection#step-2-create-a-file-share-for-redirected-folders

When this step is completed, you should have a network share:
    smb://SERVER/Users$

Which will contain user profiles as subdirectories like so:

    smb://SERVER/Users$/orual
    smb://SERVER/Users$/bardia

I have seen this same answer copied/pasted in multiple forums, but no one has presented a finished process of how to get this to work. I know Windows and domain stuff, but this one-off addition of a Mac to my domain means I have no idea how to implement redirected folders for this user. A shortcut on the desktop is not good enough. I want the contents of the server folders (an SMB share) to display on the desktop, and in the Documents, Pictures and Music folders, and automatically do this every time any domain user logs in. I tried symlinks, but this just put a shortcut to the "Documents" folder inside the Documents folder instead of replacing the Mac user's Documents folder with the symlink.
