DHCP & IPAM General Networking
1
I am a little confused with the difference between the computer gets 169.254.x.x or 0.0.0.0. I know that if the computer gets 169.254.x.x ip which means it is unable to contact dhcp server. But is 0.0.0.0 the same situation? If yes, what is the difference between them two? Is 169.254.x.x got from the computer itself?

Can someone explain the difference to me? I greatly appreciate it!!!!

listening on 0.0.0.0 means the service is listening on all the configured network interfaces. 169.254.x.x is an APIPA address auto assigned and means that the DHCP server is not reachable
