Request to reset password

Question

Over the past 3 weeks I received emails from what looks like Microsoft that requests that I change my password on a specific account by a certain date or the current password will expire. Over the past week I received several more messages from Microsoft that are telling me to reset or the password will expire today. Does Microsoft send out these type of emails or is it a phishing attempt?

check the email headers to confirm who actually sent it.

If an account access problem then also try resetting via the account recovery form
