@Sai Kiran , based on your code, I realize that you want to show the filepath and the filename of the OpenfileDialog.

After testing, I find the following two problems.

First, we need to define the textbox Control out of if statement.

Thank you for the response. Could you also help me on how can i give conditional button click. I mean
if file is selected in the drop down the browse should work as select file
else if registry is selected
the browse click should work as registry browser.
unable to figure that out.
tried with IF condition with no luck.

Also is there any way we can create a GUI for the browse click which can allow us to select folder or file any one with one click and not 2 different functions. which shows a window like the below and shows tree of file system of the current computer or a remote computer. which we can select by expanding the C:\temp\ so on which shows the folder on the left side and its content(file or folder) on the right which we can select

It Should show the folder structure on the left hand side and show the sub folder and files on the right hand side.
Also it should load the sub folders when we try to expand it. May be the same way it happens when we use registry editor on windows.

Hi Jack, Can the browse button select a directory instead of a file?

I believe this piece of code is telling it to select a file, but I'd like to select a Directory instead, is that possible?

I tried changing File in here to other things, but nothing worked.
