Hi,
I have a gaming laptop from around 6 or 7 years ago that performs well apart from the graphics card. It is OK however while recently trying to download Halo Infinite it comes up with an error saying "Could not find compatible graphics card due to the following missing feature: Hardware Tiled Resources Tier 2..." I have an MSI GS70 2OD with an Nvidia GTX 765m. looking up that graphics card I am not sure if it is good enough to run Halo but online it says the following: "The GeForce GTX 765M was a mobile graphics chip by NVIDIA, launched on May 30th, 2013. Built on the 28 nm process, and based on the GK106 graphics processor, in its N14E-GE-B-A1 variant, the chip supports DirectX 12. Even though it supports DirectX 12, the feature level is only 11_0, which can be problematic with newer DirectX 12 titles." So I assumed it did not work.

After some research I found you can use an external GPU however I do not have a thunderbolt 3 port. The only other way I found was to take it apart, however this is my dads laptop and I don't really want to take it apart and risk destroying it since this is an expensive laptop at the time.

The ports on this laptop are: 1x Ethernet, 1x HDMI, 2x Mini HDMI (I think), 4x USB A, 1x Headphones, 1x Mic, 1x Multimedia, 1x Kensington lock, 1x Power and 1x SDHC/XC.

Please help.

    Hello @Max

Halo is not a product supported in this forum. You should file a support query directly to the software manufacturer Forums or Support. Try searching online for HOW TO SUBMIT A HALO SUPPORT TICKET.

In advance, I can share as some personal knowledge that Halo Infinite will require full Direct X12, while your card feature level is DirectX11. That means that some titles using DX12 may work, but for some specific technologies in DX12, it will not.

Another option would be to consult in the GPU manufacturer forums, if there is any Driver update or feature update planned for your Graphics card.

About using a eGPU, there are options such as GPU external enclosures, where you can connect your usual GPU card to a case with it's own power supply, cooling, etc.

Hope this helps with your query,
