Is there a way to import bulk users in an IoT Central App?

We have a need to add multiple users to an existing IoT Central App (Version 2). We have the option to add one user at a time which works fine but we would like to have a way where we can import multiple users in bulk.

How many numbers of estimated users (any range ?) are you planning to add?

Which one do you prefer, adding bulk users from IoT Central portal itself or via programmatically?

Right now we have REST API to add a user, please see Add or update an email user

Please refer to complete documentation on Azure IoT Central REST API reference

Steps: Quickly test this REST API via Postman

Generate the API token from your IoT Central Portal: you can also read this generated token via the REST API call

Make use of Postman PUT call to add the user.

Currently we are adding 12 users but later we may have more to add

We prefer to have the ability to add bulk users from the IOT Central portal itself

Hi Satish,

When trying to run the POST call from POSTMAN, we are getting the following 400 Bad Request response. Sorry not sure if the expected API here should be V2 or V3. Please see if you can take a look at the response below and guide us.

Hello @tshahab , Even My IoT Central application is a V3 version.

Are you using any custom device templates? I was using available MXChip IoT DevKit template from the list.

It looks like your IoTC App has been a legacy application. The REST APIs will work only for that IoTC application, in other words, they can not be created from the Application template = Custom application (legacy). Please see similar issue.
