Access denied when trying to unistall Excel addin

I have made an Excel add in, installed it on two different computers (Windows 10)

I am able to uninstall the add in if I go to Control panel> Apps & features > Programs and Features.

However, the add in is also found directly as an app under Control panel> Apps & features. If I try to uninstall it there I get this error message:

Location is not available
C:\Program is not accessible
Access is denied.

Since the intended users probably would chose to uninstall it under Control panel> Apps & features and since the app really is there, I wonder why the uninstall cannot be done from there?

Hi @Dag Kihlman ,

Probably, there is something wrong with the uninstall string.

Have you tried the find in registry?

I have just used the "Publish" button in Visual Studio. The uninstall string points to the .vsto in question.

As I said in the question, I have no problem uninstalling the vsto if I go to Control panel> Apps & features > Programs and Features

But people are accustomed to unistalling at Control panel> Apps & features >

There, the very same app cannot be unistalled. If I uninstall it in Control panel> Apps & features > Programs and Features it disappears in both places.

In Windows 7 there is only one place to uninstall and there the problem does not exist.

But, as you say, the unistall looks in c:\program and that is obviously not the correct path...
