SSRS report - hide matrix

I have a table and a matrix. When I export it into Excel I want to hide either. Hiding table is working fine, but hiding matrix leaves in Excel this:

So, data is hidden, but not the whole matrix. Any idea?

    Hi @mark goldin ,
    Did you set the matrix's visibility to "Hide" in the Tablix properties?
    Are there rectangles or other settings in your matrix?
    In my report, after hiding the matrix and exporting to Excel format, everything works fine.
