i run some open source (iredmail) mail servers and i have been having trouble connecting to exchange server for the past few weeks (not outlook, hotmail etc).
this is typical of the diagnostic header i am getting in the bounces
Diagnostic-Code: smtp; 550 5.7.511 Access denied, banned
sender[xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx]. To request removal from this list please forward

i go through the delisting process as suggested above:
forward
- the email to the delist address
- follow the instructions in the response - clicking on a link to delist
- fill out the form with the relevant ip
- wait for the email confirmation - confirm the email address
every time i do this their system tells me that the ip is not on the block list and that i should follow instructions in the email (which i what i have done)
i have been through this process dozens of times without any apparent effect.
i went through this process last year for another of my servers and the block was cleared almost immediately first time.
as far as i am concerned the servers are secure and well set up (rev dns ,dmarc, etc etc)- the users are all small business customers and mail volumes are not that high
it seems the sending ip is blocked, not the individual account holders.
i have tried to engage with the support team but only ever get back scripted responses.
we are not on any blocklists with the on/off exception of level 3 uceprotect (not our specific ip - some other of my ips on this are not being blocked)
these servers have been operating for years without any problems and nothing negative has happened to change things in recent times
has anyone out there got a clue as to the cause of this problem?
