Deployment Approval Notifications not delivered to Azure AD Group members

Question

Currently we are not getting approval notification for any pre-deployment releases. As part of our notification settings , we have added the AD group

as a approver list in release pipeline but none of them receive a notification.

We tried changing the group properties to Global /Universal with email enabled but no success yet. It's extremely difficult now to add list of approver emailID in each release pipelines.
