Microsoft Identity Manager - Multi Subnet Failover

Hi Everyone,

i'm currently facing the problem, that i have to administrate a microsoft identity manager, which syncs Mailboxes as contacts between two forest.
Since i'm kinda new to this program i'm failing to configure the sql-server-cluster, which is a multi-subnet-failover-cluster. Whenever a sql-failover happens, MIM stops working (Synchronization stops and within the eventlog some sql-connection errors appear). It then goes to the next step and fails too.

So my question: Where do i configure the multi subnet failover?

I didn't find useful information in the internet. I'm using the sql native client 11 on the machine, which technically is able to use multi subnet failover.

Thank you in advance.

BR,
Sebastian Pohl

I recommend reading up on SQL Always ON clusters. MIM supports these and I have used Always ON in a GEO cluster (aka different subnets) with MIM SP2. Other SQL tech failovers and failbacks take too long so MIM has a tendency of going down during those but an AlwaysON cluster does not seem to have this problem

    Cheers,
